What I really think about the writing space that twitter affords is a good size because it is not meant for people to type paragraphs.  Twitter is a place where people can express their thoughts or where things can be advertised.  It can also be used by friends that want to keep up with each other.  Tweets are meant to be short so that they can be read quickly and easily.  If we were able to post paragraph long tweets, there is a good chance that they will not be read all the way through.  I personally would not use Twitter as much as I do if it was full of long tweets.  I look at Twitter for quick entertainment, and use it to post things about what I'm doing or what I am thinking about.  The only time I think the writing space should be a little bigger it when I want to mention a lot of my friends in one tweet.  Other than that, I think if you are looking for a place to write paragraphs or even pages, then you should find another website and not use Twitter.
